MuseGlobal Announces New Personalization Features
New MuseSearchTM product version allows customization for individual users.January 9, 2004 SALT LAKE CITY, UT - January 9, 2004 - MuseGlobal has announced a new optional MuseSearchTM product version to allow extensive customization down to the level of the individual metasearch user. Individual user preferences can be captured to provide a personalized interface, selection of search sources, and metasearch functionality. Such attributes as number of results to be returned for each source, the number of results displayed per page, the de-duplication algorithm, and the method of sorting can be directly set by the user. "Personalization can greatly increase use of new technology tools," says MuseGlobal CEO Kate Noerr. "We understand the range of ways people use metasearch products and have built customization capabilities that will allow individuals to tailor the solution to meet their specific needs." The user can hide or show any sources in the MuseSearch interface, making it easy to narrow down a large set of searchable sources to only those sources of interest. MuseGlobal has also provided users with the ability to personally manage authentication for all sources. "Personal Access Controls" can easily be entered to search sources that require an individual username/password or various other schemas. Three access types are supported: CGI Script, HTTP Authentication, or Proxy Authorization. The base MuseSearch product offers customization features down to the user class/department level.
