Westchester Library System Selects MuseGlobal to Integrate Information Resources.

January 17, 2003

Salt Lake City, Utah – MuseGlobal, Inc. announced today that the Westchester Library System (WLS), located in Ardsley, New York, has selected the MuseSearchTM broadcast search solution to integrate access to its many online information sources. The nearly one million citizens of Westchester County will be able to search the library system catalog, the Internet, and more than 30 subscription-based resources with a single query using this powerful connectivity software.

"As we expanded our digital resources, the complexity of navigation among these diverse sources limited the use of this vast array of content. We selected MuseSearch to give all our patrons a simple way to quickly locate information of interest, wherever it happens to be located," according to Wayne Hay, WLS’s manager of information technology.

With digital content representing a growing portion of operating budgets, libraries are increasingly concerned about promoting use of these resources. Patrons are often unaware of the array of online databases they can access and fail to take advantage of them. "The return on investment is tremendous in implementing a solution such as MuseSearch", says MuseGlobal CEO Kate Noerr. "Instead of relying on an Internet search engine, a single-search interface drives patrons to use all the available sources of information".
